This is my take on Count Nefaria, for inclusion in the awesome Offical Handbook of the Marvel Universe REDUX Edition Blog-

The idea is to redraw every character from the Deluxe edition of the Marvel Handbook, I've picked out a few others to do as well, but Nefaria's the first. I love this costume, designed by John Byrne back in the mid 70's for a three issue arc he drew of the Avengers (#164, 165, 166) Most of the choice characters from this blog project had already been claimed by other artists, but luckily The Count was still available...SCORE!

I thought Nefaria's outfit was awesome as well. Great colour combination, totally cool cape design and we got to see Superman fight the Avengers for a bit. The best bit is when he arrests Thor's hammer in mid stroke with one hand. Totally awesome!. (I even made my own costume for a convention long ago based on this design.)

It's rare to see the powered-up Count Nefaria's face even hint at the one the pre-powered version's face, but you've managed to do that just right.
