G.I. Joe Renegades Characters by dusty-abell G.I. Joe Renegades Characters by dusty-abell
This collection of character designs represents a pretty broad overview of the work i had the good fortune to do while helping out on the Hasbro animated TV show G.I. Joe Renegades last year. If the animation industry has a real life equivalent of the Mighty Thor's pal in The Warriors Three, Fandral the Dashing..... it's Steve Jones [link] who invited me along on what turned out to be an incredible opportunity to work with one of my biggest artistic inspirations, Lead Character Designer Clement Sauve [link]
I learned so much working with Clem, it was an invaluable experience. It makes me sad to think the world won't be seeing anymore work from this phenomenally talented artist, there was no limit to what he may have done if he were still with us. His design theories regarding this show were amazingly thought out, everything had a purpose for the way it was done, his shadow guide theory was something incredible to see, as is evidenced in the all to few Joe designs that he was able to post before he passed. Clem was an incredibly giving person, kind, sincere, passionate and hugely talented..... i'll miss him for all those reasons and more.

Clem designed all the main Joe and Cobra characters I worked with him on, i did turns and redresses from his designs, attempting to keep them on model, in his style...... the secondary characters and incidentals shown here were me with Clem passing along his notes.....which incidentally....... I LOVED getting! It was fascinating for me to see my drawings analyzed through his eyes, they were always very minimal, but incredibly illuminating.

I would recommend hitting the "DOWNLOAD" button over on the right to Imbiggify the image.........

You do some awesome reptiles! I love the gator. (I also love seeing the turn-arounds and costume designs, I'm just a big fan of alligators, I guess...)

The art on this show has been absolutely fabulous.
