His names Ruben Martinez rm73.deviantart.com and he's a good friend and excellent artist that works for one of the world's biggest toy makers as a designer and concept artist. I'd love ya all to go check out his site and see what you think and if you liked what you saw maybe consider picking up his very first art book showcasing a marvelous selection of his work. It's a beautifully bound, 76 page, full color, hardcover compiliation of his sketches, concept art and finished pieces that follow a common theme throughout the book. It's titled "THE AFTERLIFE" and its loaded with both humorous and horrific macabre art, a real departure from the work i had up till now seen from Ruben, nothing grisly or over the top mind you, really more in the vein of the old EC Comics artists, Disneys Haunted Mansion and classic monster movies and thrillers. He has an awesome introduction to the book by comic book legend and good friend Stan "The Man" Lee that is so complimentary it just made me smile when I read it. Ruben is a super nice guy and a tremendous talent, his first collected book of artwork is a marvelous example of the boundless creativity and love for drawing that have made me such a big fan of his work. Let him know what you think, and tell your friends, thanks, Dusty!
