after a rather lackluster summer of films that really didn't live up to the hype, i just thought i'd throw it out there for anybody that cared that i personally really enjoyed 3:10 to yuma! i can't guarantee you will but it sure did impress me, it was a really entertaining western with some great acting and excellent direction. i think crowe is one of the best actors in hollywood right now, the guy is so versatile. i knew it had been made in the 50's but i was surprised to find out it was based on a short story by elmore leonard author of get shorty, jackie brown and out of sight to name some of his more recent film adaptations, so now i'll add this super western to that great list of films.
also, king of kong is great, its just the best underdog story since rocky.....AND ITS ALL TRUE!
and i can't wait for the extended directors cut of "Deathproof" come tues. from Tarantino, LOVED it in Grindhouse as much as I hated Planet Terror, thank you Weinstein Bros. for releasing it seperately!
I've gotta second King of Kong. That was the best documentary I've seen. Completely entertaining, anybody would like it, even though most people arn't into Donkey Kong any more. Great flick.
I'm really jazzed to see 3:10 to Yuma. I TIVOed the original but I don't want to watch it until after I see the new one. If you get a chance check out KING of KONG.
Ooooooo, I've been so excited about 3:10 to Yuma! Heard nothing but good things!
I liked Death Proof in theatres. I felt Tarantino wasted a whole lot of time in the first half with the girls though. A lot of the dialog and moments went nowhere. Normally there are cool quotables in Tarantino movies, but the girls didn't say anything I could remember afterwards. What was up with the long friggin' segment of the girl texting on her cell phone? Pointless! I was getting bored until Kurt Russell showed up. And once all of the car stuff got going I was on the edge of my seat! Friggin' intense! I hope the extended version adds more to the last half than to the first half. Let us know once you watch the DVD! I wanna know before I buy it. Though.... I'll probably get it anyway. Too bad they aren't releasing the fake trailers on either Gringhouse DVD.

Gaurantee it.
If you can find it, the original Yuma story & movie are worth a look.
