hellboy 70's adventure by dusty-abell hellboy 70's adventure by dusty-abell
mike hated the 70's, i loved em, this was my appeal to him that it could have legs. it made geof darrow laugh and thats good enough for me. done way back when, and since no ones ever gonna see it anywhere else, here it is. if the piece was colord you'd notice the black fella is in fact ashen white with a white afro, hes hellboys risen from the dead, vietnam vet, zombie partner in the bprd.

Thanks for this one, this laugh was awesome.
I really love what you have done.

In France we used to have some cartoon named 'funky cop' in that spirit, it's so funny.

I want to read this! Albino afro guy--bitchin'! Even if Mike didn't like the 70s, Hellboy lived through them. But maybe he was underwater or buried in quicksand or something... ;)

Awesome! Its so amazingly drawn, I think Ill have to add this to faves aswell.
Didn't HB mention in Seeds of Destruction that some disaster occured on a mission in China '79? Well, thats what I immediately thought of when I saw this. It would make for one kickass story, I think!

Just viewed the coloured piece after googling you, personally I prefer this piece though the colour version has a certain draw to it. I absolutely love the concept of Hellboy in the 70s ^_^

You KNOW Jeoff Darrow? AND Mignola?!? I'm so jealous. Artistically they are on opposite sides of the spectrum. Mignola with his zen like lines and Darrow with his insanely intricate linework. Still, they both give me mental geek-gasims.

It shows. Very similar sensibilities. The way you two spot your blacks is very similar, as well. He is an awesome artist. He's come a long way from Rocket Racoon. And you've come a long way yourself. Can't wait to see more sequential work from you.
